The Great Wall is one of the most well known symbols of China. Chairman Mao once said “He who does not climb the Great Wall is not a true man”. Trekking on The Great Wall of China will be an unforgettable experience for any visitor.
Please Note: Unfortunately the Great Wall has mostly collapsed over time or been destroyed by modern civilisation and only a few sections remain in good shape. This itinerary may need to be adjusted to reflect ongoing Great Wall renovations or closures.

Itinerary Day By Day
Day 1 – Arrival in Beijing
Our guide will meet you outside the baggage claim area at Beijing Airport and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2 – Beijing
Attractions: Juyongguan Pass, Badaling Great Wall
Your Great Wall Tour begins at Juyongguan Pass, one of the three great passes. It is also the closest section to Beijing. Although history documents previous walls, the one you see today was completed in 1368. Since then it has been renovated many times.
Not far away is Badaling which is one of the best preserved and most visited sections of wall. After your hike here you will return to Beijing.

Day 3 – Beijing to Tianjin
Attractions: Huangyaguan Pass
Today you will drive to Tianjin where you will find the Huangyaguan section of the Great Wall which has a history of 1400 years. It winds its way across the mountains and is very steep in places. The hike here will take two to three hours. You will stay in this area overnight.

Day 4 – Tianjin to Jinshanling
Attractions: Jinshanling Great Wall, Simatai
Today you will hike along the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall to Simatai. This section is more challenging with some steep gradients. The walking distance is about ten kilometres but is difficult because the wall is only partly restored. However it is less crowded than other parts and the landscape is spectacular. You will stay overnight near Jinshanling

Day 5 – Jinshanling to Beijing via Mutianyu
Attractions: Mutianyu Great Wall
You will drive from Jinshanling to Mutianyu for your last hike along the Great Wall. Although it is older than the Badaling section it was rebuilt in 1569 making it one of the best quality sections. It was part of the northern barrier protecting Beijing.
After your hike you will return to Beijing.

Day 6 – Depart Beijing
Today is at your leisure until you are transferred to Beijing Airport for your flight to your next destination.
